Harry Potter. I was far more drawn into the story and the characters. It has more depth and complexity to me. I actually went back to Chronicles of Narnia after reading HP because I remembered enjoying it in a similar way when I first read it. Revisiting it after reading the Potter books was somewhat disappointing but I agree with the other answerer that the Chronicles of Narnia are really better for a young audience. The Potter books got deeper and more complex as they went and are more contemporary as well. I look forward to sharing both sets of stories with my kids in the future though and finding out what appeals to them.

Narnia by far. The Chronicles are a great series of books well written and have stood the test of time. I can't say the same about Harry..

The Chronicles of Narnia

I do like both but I relate with the Harry Potter series much better. The Chronicles were more for the kids, the HP series has created a phenomena that cut across age, intellectual, cultural, economic, political and even religious boundaries. Do away with all the media hype and the books are still good on their own. Millions of readers can't be duped all the way, can they?

Although the character development in Harry Potter is unsurpassed, I enjoy the Chronicles of Narnia more. They make me feel better about everything when I read them.

Harry Potter, hands down. Chronicles of Narnia is ok, but I find the plot quite boring and weird.

The Chronicles of Narnia is so much better. i know almost everyone will say harry potter, but you can't compare them. harry potter is for today's reader, written in a very very simple way. i enjoyed reading it, but i loved the chronicles because they are really for kids(the last books of harry potter are more for teenagers or adults). it makes you enter a world of magic that you were used when little(queens, princesses, princes and so on). when reading harry potter you imagine sme kind of a hollywood blockbuster, while when reading narnia you imagine a world that can't be created by movies.
that's my personal opinion and feelings about the books! i don't mean to insult any hp fan.

The Chronicles are good, but Harry Potter is better. The way the story develops across the seven volumes is amazing and when you start seeing how Rowling has foreshadowed coming events in earlier books, it becomes quite clear how brilliantly they're written.

C.S. Lewis was a very deep man. He's one of my favorite writers. His life story is amazing. My favorite quote from him is 'Experience, that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, by God, you learn."

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I really enjoyed reading all the books. JK Rowling is very talented.

I feel though, that each evoke a different ambiance. You get a feeling that Harry Potter could exist right now today. CS Lewis wrote Narnia in the time when London was sending it's youth to the country during bombings from WWII.
They are both great series that deserve equal recognition!!!

just my opinion!!!
