Assuming the sound worked before, ask your friend for the Recovery disks (all drivers included), but, if unavailable:

Download the user Manual, then read it.

The Recovery Disks may be on the hard drive. If not, call Toshiba to purchase replacements. DO NOT use a generic, store-bought XP disk!!!

i don't think of you ought to purchase them at a save and that they are too costly ($1500-$2000). you may get a much greater suitable computing device, not a tblet computing gadget, for much less, like a Sony Vaio or a Dell XPS or Inspiron. If yo're prepared, get the recent middle 2 DUo Processors by potential of Intel and a minimum of a million GB of Ram in case you elect domicile windows Vista. additionally get a sturdy video card.

if ever you cannot find online the right drivers for your laptop better contact or visit your local Toshiba Service Centre. I am pretty sure you have one. They can fix it for you without any charge if your unit is still under warranty.
