New RAM probably installed on slot that has accumulated dust. Try cleaning the slot first with a small paint brush then reseat the new RAM twice or thrice before locking in.

Suggestion :

Go to the website www.memtest86.com and download a memory check tool. you can then burn this small file to a cd (as an image) so you can then boot from it. It will auto-start a memory check; wich wll tell youif you have serious memory problems (trust me, you will directly see if somethings wrong)

Then you can take more steps (like exchanging the ram in the store or something like that)

this may not apply to you...but are you using the amd socket 754 clawhammer athlon 64 chip? (you can check using cpu-z or go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager)

If so, that chip and motherboard cannot run 2 sticks ddr440 side-by-side. It says it can, but in reality...it cannot. If you have that chip, you will have to go into the bios and manually set the speed to ddr333.

If you don't have that chip, then ignore.
