Yes...absolutely request a female doc. It's important to be comfortable and at ease with the person doing your exam. In a hospital setting, you may also request female technicians and nurses

Yes, it is well within your rights to ask for a female. Bear in mind, it might be wise to ring first & request it to make sure there is even a female going to be on that day.
I know how you feel, but to be honest, I've found males are usually a bit more gentle, as they have no idea what we are feeling! So they tend to be more cautious. I've had a female once that was absolutely shocking!
Don't let anything put you off though, it's too important. You have to get used to all sorts lookin up yer woozer when ya have a baby so you just kind of tune out after a while.
Just try & relax.
P.s. even if it is a male, there has to be female staff member in the room (not necesarily watching you tho) with you both. It is law.

I feel the same way honey. And yes you can request a female doctor. All you have to do is when you make your next appointment, say you would prefer a female. I don't know if they are required to honor that but, I've always asked for a female and that's what I've always gotten.

Yes you can. Some places will first ask you if you are a new patient if you have a preference.First call and ask if there are any female Dr's,then ask if any are taking patients.I am done having baby's and had a total hysterectomy and my gyno canceled my 2 year appointment that same day.But because I don't need one as often. I have a regular Dr that can do a pap and order a mammogram. My dr is a female most dr will say they will do all that stuff. Also they wont have to cancel to go deliver a baby

In order
Yes
Depends which country you are in, whether or not you have insurance, and whether or not female doctors are available. Regardless of any of the aforementioned, clinics always do their best to accomodate you, and you can never be *forced* to see a male doctor - there may just be no female ones available.
Simply say 'i'd prefer to see a female doctor if possible' when you make an appointment or turn up

Does the group you'll be using have a female on staff? If so, you may get lucky. Most groups want you to see all the docs so that each one has some sort of familiarity with you (no pun intended, lol). Anyway, you can ask, but if you havent scheduled with her then you may find yourself seeing the male doc anyway, or scheduling another appointment. In the future, ask for the female doc.

Yes, it is ok to request that you see a female doctor instead of a male doctor. The offices should honor this request but if not then I would recommend finding another practice to go to.
I would recommend all ladies see a female doctor if this is her first time going for an annual exam and pap smear because it is less embarrassing to talk to a female doctor than it is a male doctor.

That is a very common request that Women's clinics get...to have a female doctor for OB/GYN services. Do not be embarrassed at all. They will honor your request.
In fact, most nowadays will ask YOU which you prefer when making your first appointment.

I know in the UK you can do that, and they do try to honor that. You can always ask for a female nurse to be in the room with you while the male doc examines you. I really would not worry though, they have trained to do that job and it's not like they have not seen it all before anyway (trust me, I used to wax bikini lines and you just don't even register the person's bits, you just get on with the job.)
