Well, whatever places in your town or nearby city sell laptops, I would go there and tell them you are a student on a fixed income and need a great sale to afford a decent one, or I would call up Dell computers, like I did and I pay less than $50 a month to pay it off, you can tell them you want the one that is less expensive and that you are a struggling student. You could babysit, while you are studying, just to pay the monthly fee if you are wondering how to pay off your computer. That you are a student and trying to afford a laptop to educate yourself is very wonderful!!! The internet has taught me many wonderful things I never learned at college and Thank God for google.com!!! I love search engines. Good luck to you. You can enter contests to win one but always use a search engine and type in "coupon codes" for Gateway computers or Dell.com or wherever you want to buy one so that you might get free shipping or a special sale for students or anyone who orders on over the net to your home. Think of this as a wonderful adventure to get the best price on a laptop. Happy Holidays too!!! P.S. tell your parents and all your present giving relatives that you need a laptop for school and Santa just might have a wonderful surprize for you next month!!!

I just bought a really nice Acer Laptop w/2G for $698 from Walmart.com. I clicked to Walmart.com from the boxtops4education Marketplace so a percentage of my sales went to my children's elementary school. Awesome Laptop!

my suggestion would be buying online.
what's so great about buying online?
well, you can ask the seller to make the price lower but be sure that you will not buy laptop from a "not so trusted seller"

Your question is way too vague.

Please re-post and tell us if you are looking for a new or used laptop (Windows, OSX, Linux ?), what your budget is AND what your specific needs are (like Gaming, Video authoring, etc.).

Then, we can try to help.
