I believe that there is such a thing as a fib, and a lie. I know that sounds oppositional. A fib, according to the dictionary, is an irrelevant lie. So I would consider telling a fib, especially to keep from hurting someone's feelings, okay. For example, I have a friend who calls me and she likes to talk for along time on the phone (I now have caller ID) I used to tell her that I had company and couldn't talk at the moment when really I had other more pressing matters. (This friend called alot) That, I feel is irrelevant, and it hurt nothing. A lie is different. It can lead to more lies. It can hurt people. And it doesn't make you an honest person, which I'm sure you want to be.

I rather have been in circumstances the place all around me regarded unfair. Take answering questions. If I answer a query too quickly, human beings bypass at the back of me and thumb me down in droves. They do this to win the tiebreakers. it is not any longer cheating because of the fact Yahoo stands at the back of the thought thumbing human beings down is expressing your opinion. I rather have additionally been in fights the place i'm outnumbered 5 to a minimum of one and had to apply even though became obtainable just to maintain from getting killed. i do no longer evaluate that cheating while the stakes are existence and loss of existence. As for relationships, i do no longer abide with human beings forming a momogomous relationship and then slumbering around. it rather is cheating. So what have we discovered? it is all in the circumstances and as a result i might desire to assert sure, no and in line with threat it is not any longer because it style of feels. I bypass away it to the judgment of those wiser than me to be sure if there ought to be some specific crucial bearing directly to cheating or no longer. I merely take it as I see it.

Yes

And also a "white lie" would soon grown bigger, and you would be probably forced to tell more and more lies to cover up your original lie.

So no a "white lie" is not ok!

It's never right to lie. sometimes white lies so to speak can be told innocently enough, but they are still lies. An example of this is telling your man he's big, when in reality he may not be.

it's ok. if you would lie for the sake of not hurting other's feelings. Or if you're doing it because of good intentions..that's why it's called "white lie".

But still, its best to be honest

.people and children in abusive situations will tell lies to survive or avoid abuse/verbal or physical in some way.I'm not talking about normal healthy discipline and homes here.

Until they can leave that situation safely, that's the way it is man. That's when lies can be ok.

Then the onus is to unlearn that habit, but also to be tactful with the truth,or bite ones tongue, etc.

Habits are learned behaviours and can be replaced with new habits learned.

Who created this thing called a "white lie"? I think we just call it that to make ourselves feel better.

I would lie. For example if your kid is hideous, and you said "isn't he adorable!", I'd say he was adorable.
