There are very few journalists these days who can report the news without coloring it with their own personal opinions. Serious journalists are those who can write a good story with no detectable bias. The jokes in the profession are the many who write or report the news with a very detectable slant. Columnist pieces, of course, are supposed to be rife with opinion... and that's fine. But the news should be just the event.
