Dude! George Bush basically told Musharraf to hold elections as planned in January.

US presidents have always supported dictators when expedient. Politics at the international level is not always based on moral or ethical principles, to say the least.

The problem with Bush was his hypocritical freedom and democracy agenda, which, of course, was just a thin excuse to invade and occupy Iraq and to interfere in the affairs of other middle eastern countries.

Condemning Myanmar dictatorship at the same time that Musharraf was on the brink of declaring marshal law was just another colossal Bush administration blunder.

Countries will still listen to the US because it still carries a big military and economic stick.

Far Right? GW Bush? What you smokin', son? You do realize that the so called neocons are former liberals and GW Is considered a moderate, correct? The US has ALWAYS supported dictators if they are an enemy of our enemy although the neocons, in their pushing the American style of government on practically everyone have been fighting that (or have you forgotten the Taliban and Hussein?). If we would support more dictators, we wouldn't be in this mess as we would have left Iraq alone.
