I have 2 questions I suppose........
Every month or so since April, I've had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night or early morning because of a severe pain I get in my lower pelvic region, rendering me almost unable to walk. I have no history or symptoms of STD's, have one parter, and have been treated for any STD's upon every visit to the emergency room just as a precaution. When I go to the ER the same Dr, tells me its pelvic inflammatory disease. My family doctor says it is not, and that is more likely cysts that keep rupturing. No one can give me a straight answer and it is wreaking havoc on my life. Anyone know what this could be???

The second part of my question is this....Monday morning I had another supposed "cyst rupture" and I went to my Dr. Tuesday and he prescribed 100 mg of Darvocet and 550 mg of Naproxen (x2 pills per dose) to help with the pain. Now ever since early wednesday morning i've had nonstop diarrhea, nonstop stomachache. Help me?!

Get yourself to a gynecologist, family doctors are not equipped for complicated gynecological problems. He's telling you about cysts rupturing and the only thing he's doing is giving you narcotics? What a quack. Get to a real doctor. As for the diarrhea and stomachache, call the pharmacist and ask if these are common side effects for the drugs you're taking and if so, if there's anything you can do to avoid the side effects. I would hope that the ER doc is ruling out appendicitis, by the way.

Well, I think the diarrhea is from the painkillers. They can wreak havoc on your GI track. Be sure to take them with meals.
The question I have is--do you see this affecting your gynecologically or digestively?
I was just diagnosed with IBS and one of the places I had pain was right under the bellybutton--they seemed just like cramps, but they weren't (as it was the wrong time of the month).
But another thing I had with IBS is severe abdominal pain a couple hours after I ate. The pain radiated to my back and was crippling. It'd last for an hour or two then start to subside. Essentially, this was food hitting my lower intestine, which was raw from the condition.
Regardless, talk to a gyno to start. He/she may recommend an ultrasound which will show ovarian cysts. You may also want to talk to a surgeon about having a colonoscopy or GI scope done to check for any issues there.
Essentially, get every organ down there looked at.

Go to a gynocologist. They are more knowledgable about female issues than ER docs. They will probably do an ultrasound to look for cysts.
The medication could be causing your diarrhea and stomachache. Make sure you are taking them with a snack or meal. 2 pills of Naproxen is kind of a lot, if you can get by with 1, try that. It is in the same category as ibuprofen and both can cause stomach problems. Good luck!

ovulation can cause this but it would alternate sides if it was your overies. see a doctor but until then go to the grocery store and get some activa live cultured yogert because many times diarrhea and digestive problems are from a change in the natural digestive bacteria in your gut. If you had antibiotics or yeast in fection lately this may have started it. even stress can throw your natural balance off and cuase cramping and diarrhea. eat apple sause cuz it has natural pectin and for a day eat the brat diet ( applesause rice and toast, and chicken broth) and see if you are better. You need to check your stool for blood or black color to be sure there is no blood. small amount red (frank blood)may be from irritation to your anus though. I think I would get some bowel flora from the health food store. If you are with one man are you sure he is not cheating? have the doctor prove PID by testing you for the bacteria. did he give antibiotics? did they culture a smear? dont leave until you are satisfied with treatment. dont let the doc treat you like a number. meke him listen and explain. his nurse should if he doesnt. Many times women get antibiotics and have yeast infections and diarrhea for months and the doctors act like they dont know what is going on...sometimes they test for parasites and sometimes they even give another antibiotic but this is foolish when all you need is to replenish the natural harmony in your body because the antibiotics kill the good bacteria you need for digestion along with the bad bacteria causing an infection.

I would advise you taking the medicine on a full stomach. Maybe take with some milk. If you are not use to pain medication and are taking it on an empty stomach it will give you diarreha. If it does not go away, you should call your dr. He can change medicines or the strenght of it. Those are really pretty mild pain pills you have. If both Dr's do not agree on what it could be I would advise you see another DR.

Tight muscles in your back can press onto the nerves, as they leave the spine, going to the intestines to cause them to pass things through quicker and that's what you get. to get rid of the problem you have to free up your back muscles and here's how to do that: Back: (do from a sitting position) Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. Now you should be able to eat pizza again. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Honey you and I are in the same boat!

I'm having just about the same problems excpet mines is caused by a double dose of BV that's spreading to my anal area and causing me extreme discomfort in my vaginal and anal regions.

I've been dealing with this since October 2006 and it looks like they're no end in sight.

Have you considered homeopathic remedies. Sometimes those medications the doctors give us just poison our bodies and inflame the condition and make it worse.

I wish you the best of luck. Email me anytime.

It sounds like you might have gallstone(s). I've had stomach pain and bloating for 2 years. In the emergency room, the CT scan showed a large gallstone. I had surgery to remove my gallbladder and I'm fine now. Check out this site: http://www.gallbladderattack.com/questionnaire.shtml

Good Luck!

You should go to a different doctor, and get some help. As far as the second question, you probably have irritable bowel syndrome, and should go to the doctor. Hope this helps!

Based on your symptoms it sounds like it could be endometriosis or something similar but this needs to be evaluated by a gynecologist to see what they think is going on.
