anything that moves and sings will get his attention.
Some musical things like plastic drum or maraca's.
Fisher price 'roll-arounds' or 'peek-a-blocks'.
'Duplo' blocks or 'mega blocks' - wooden blocks in a wagon
One of those toddle bikes that have the seat belts and adult handle to push it until they can ride it themselves. My son got this at his first christmas, he was 10mths, and loved being taken for walks in it and then started riding it himself the next christmas.
Some medium sized trucks or cars.
Good luck and have a happy first christmas with your son!

Get him a 2008 Shelby Mustang (candy apple red), send me the keys and tell him uncle Pat will be right over to give him his first ride in an American Legend. Kidding..... Get him a Fisher Price keyboard. Uncle Pat plays a keyboard and he just bought a new Mustang... Couldn't afford the Shelby but the GT will do just fine. Bragging rights!! Have a great Christmas with your little prince. Having their mommy there at Christmas is a gift a lot of little ones won't get.

He will prob like ripping off the paper more then anything, lol. SO wrap up many boxes just for him to open to play. As far as gifts you can get him like other people said anything that has lights and sound. Also, what i always think of in toys are educational things. Things that are fun yet teach them. Kids are never to young to learn. My son is 3 months and all I do is play and teach :). Try a kiddy laptop, keyboard for babies, maybe some books.
