Strictly speaking, a Constitution is a blue print for government.

In the case of the US Constitution, you have to remember that it was written with the intent that it could be changed and/or re-interpreted over time as society changed. If you find a law is infringing on your constitutional rights - such as freedom of religion or speech. The freedom of the press, the right to petition the government or peaceably assemble - then you should get in touch with the ACLU and see if they will help you take your case to the Supreme Court.

Would you mind sharing which laws you are specifically speaking of?

The constitution provides for the rights of the people that the government must protect and any amendments must be made according to its provisions without giving in to the interests of the politicians.

The do it because we let them. Being a 'war president' and fighting terrorism is Bush's justification for running roughshod over the Constitution, for not only criminal behavior but corruption of historic proportions.

Americans are not politically aware as the used to be. But when the pain rises to a certain level, we pay more attention. And I think that might be beginning.

keeping the constitution in tact would be difficult they will always make ammendments to it, but bush is doing the opposite he is suspending and dismantleling it little by little, i think he used the phrase "its just a piece of paper" a couple years back
