When your friend intentionally does something to hurt or betray you or someone you care for, and shows no remorse whatsoever.
Even if they do show remorse, it depends on the situation.
For example, if he/she slept with your lover/spouse...no matter how sorry they may feel, that's still something which most people would find difficult to forgive. The same goes for if he/she accidentally killed your parent, sibling, relative or pet, unless it was in self-defense.
Then there are those friendships where the two people lose touch or grow apart, but that's more of a natural process.
In the end, only you can decide which people you want to remain in your life.

When one of the two finds out that the other one is using him for personal gains, telling lies to him or the other one is burning with envy,jealousy and is engaged in back biting. In any one of the situations, friendship is not likely to continue.
