Why would any man support equal rights for women, when maintaining the status quo, in theory, is to his benefit?
Why would any woman seek equality rather than superiority?
My answer (it might not be yours) is that our capacity for empathy, to walk a mile in the others shoes - our empathy is a measure of our humanity.
Matthew 25:31 to 45
Whatsoever you do to the least of My brothers, that you do unto Me
Whatsoever you do to the least of My sisters, that you do unto Me
Whatsoever you do to the least of My children, that you do unto Me

Is our capacity for Empathy a measure of our Humanity?

I absolutely agree. The capacity we have for empathy allows us to connect with others on a deeper, spiritual level. It is definitely a measure of our humanity, but also a measure of our connection to something much larger than ourselves. Without empathy, we could not know what it means to care, or to love......

Agree. Empathy is the very thing that makes us alive. The whole act of being with someone, caring and loving him/her, as a friend, as someone who helps us at work, or maybe even as the lifetime companion implies something more than simply knowing him/her. Implies lending an helping hand, thinking at the deeper consequences of everything. It's too simple oppressing someone, but looking at his/her eyes while doing it... it's a thing only a monster can do.

human beings are able to stepped forward psychological strategies (mendacity, cheating, pretending, paintings). they do no longer do something in the event that they don't get a reward, apart from their offspring. They carry directly to a great theory, even no count number if that's fictional and nonsense (faith). additionally, human beings do no longer stick to the human rights by utilising nature. A human who does not comprehend approximately them, won't act in accordance to them. He needs to be counseled to be sort to human beings till now he even considers to. They do, although, attempt to maintain the different human beings below their administration. This will become sparkling once you think of with regard to the "do no longer thieve" regulation, which existed in each and every important civilization. and all and sundry accepts that rule. yet while it comes right down to the only person, it merely isn't accompanied. what proportion human beings have not fallen to corruption, that's stealing? human beings are additionally particularly gullible. A cat, you may fool as quickly as. A human, you may fool advert infinitum. commercials actual trick us into figuring out to purchase stuff...

I thought about this question - and went straight back to my original 'knee-jerk' reaction: "no". Some higly intelligent animal species have been shown to be capable of feeling empathy. Of course, the first and most obvious example to spring to mind is that of the African Grey Parrot (and other parrot species but psittacus erithacus in particular). Great apes have demonstrated a tremendous capacity for empathy, research scientists have noted. A list of other animals would need to include elephants, dolphins, and dogs.
The answer to your question is 'no'. There is too much scientific evidence against it.

Yes, empathy means you can put yourself in someone elses shoes and feel the greif, pain or joy they may be feeling and have compassion or mercy for them. It is what connects us as human beings. If you don't feel guilt when commiting an atrocity upon another human then you aren't part of humanity. If you don't get angered when you view atrocities being commited to another then you aren't part of humanity. If you find joy in abusing innocent unknowing creatures, you are not humane. ;-)

Most of what you're on about should make good sense to human beings. Sadly, it's not always the case. Take care.
