People who believe that people could speak the TRUTH,
use to get confused with defintions. Do not worry about.
Read the bible. Stay out of politics. Have a blessed day.
PS: China was never communist. For a short period
they were "Amish", then perverted marxistic (no farmers)
After these experiments, they turned to an oligarchy.

China is allowing some grass roots capitalism to exist, essentially they are allowing what was the black market to operate in the open but for the most part China controls all the heavy industry and large business so for the most part the people of China are not benefiting from a truly Capitalistic system. They are better off then they were a decade ago but they still suffer from a Central government crushing any innovative ideas from the people.

Get rich quick schemes in the capitalist business world, (buyouts, IPOs, conglomerates, acquisitions, mergers, and the stock market), do not actually work. Remaining solvent does not actually exist within false economics capitalism.
Profit existing in the capitalist business world, or millionaires existing within capitalism, is pathological deception committed by the 21 organizations spying on the population with plain clothes agents, (with covert fake names and fake backgrounds).
Actual economics is the persons paying the monthly business loan payments of companies voting at work in order to control the property they are paying for.
Capitalism is the psychology of imaginary parents, false economics, and the criminal deception of employees that are paying the bills (including the stocks and bonds, or shares) of companies.
Anti-democracy republicanism is the psychology of imaginary parents, and false government.

It seems to me that Communism as presented by Marx was an economic system that in his mind was the natural successor to Captialism. I have not read his works since college over 40 years ago...so feel free to correct me here.
Certainly China is moving towards a market based economy in manufacturing. They have spun off part ownership of certain state industries. There is a stock market of sorts. (Ironically as we watch the manipulation of stock prices on their exchange...and see similar activities on ours --enron, worldcom maybe our securities industries are moving towards each other -Grin)
Certainly there is still substantial government contol of industry.
Captialism can exist under different political systems. Look at capitalism in some of the middle east kingdoms, the Phillipines inder Marcos, Pakistan under Musharif, Chile under Pinochet...
By definition under Communism the state owns all means of production. Hence the 'collectivization' that occured under Stalin.

I suppose you could say that, but the real power is still heald by the Government and the military...as in all Communism.
Free market can thrive, to a degree, but they are kept at bay by the Governemtns decisions.
Recently they "cooled" their own trading market because they thought it was getting out of hand. They've limited trading only to those in the country. Hong Kong is another issue though.
There's also not much legal recoarse a small business can take if they find products defective. I imagine even Mattel had alot of bureaucracy to go through.

China has lower taxation than the US. China claims to be communist but is actually using a Fascist economic model...the same one that Japan still uses....it has always worked. China would have been where it is now 40 years ago if the forces of Chiang Kai-Shek had won.

Much of China is now economically capitalist, but they still have a one party dictatorship. They completed the circle from communism to fascism.

There are only two political systems: community (which is about people) and government (which is about power).
Community is what we have lost and what we most need.

No, in order for a company to be successful in China, it must have access to corrupt officials in the government.
For example, in several large cities in China only one company is allowed to perform one type of business. That is because corrupt officials (that are being paid off) won't issue the permits for other businesses to start up.
There are many American exporters that are denied access to China's market only because they don't have government connections. There are wholesalers in China that want to buy American products, but corrupt government officials are blocking trade.
About communism, China's government is still extremely communist. The former dead leader of China is still highly honored even though he killed 70 million Chinese. The dead leader has reached a god-like status.
Many Chinese in China pray to the dead leader Mao. Mao is still worshipped by China's leaders. America cannot trust China until Mao's picture is out of Tiananmen square.

USSR's Stalin starved tens of millions of people to death. He was a role model for China's Mao Tse Tung. Mao followed in Stalin's steps by later starving to death tens of millions of people by taking away the food that the people had grown with their own hands.
