I find it is better for me to give than to receive, I get this wonderful feeling inside knowing that I have done a good think. I prefer giving thing anonymously. I pick a neighbor or a friend who is in need and give them things and love to hear the story of how someone just helped. I also pick elderly people or a child who is ill at the hospital without a family. It is very gratifying to me. Last year my daughter and I picked someone our own age at the mental hospital that had not had visitors for over 5 years and showered them with things they wanted and needed for the year. It was a fun year!

There should be a balance between these two.

Giving and not receiving is pathetic and receiving without giving is egoistic. If we want to receive we must learn to give.

I don't know how to act when I recieve, so I prefer giving. Unfortunately, I'm practically broke, so I rarely have the means of giving.
