I just found out i was pregnant. I took 2 epts and they both said positive, then I went to a local planned parenthood clinic and they told me that since I was only 1 day late it was going to be impossible to show up. I took the test there and the positive line was bright and the lady was in shock. She said I must have high Hcg levels. Does this mean that Im likely to have twins.

My hubby has 2 sets of uncles on his fathers side that are twins and I have some distant.

Congratulations! As for the elevated levels and twins I don't think there is much of a concrete way to know so early. I do know that if both you and your hubby have any twins (distant or not) in your families you are predisposed to twins. If no twins are previously present, the odds of twins is unbelievable. Most doctors and nurses would be reluctant to guess solely by the levels. We all have slightly different body chemistries, so you, like all other expectant mamas in the world will have to wait and see. In any case, I hope you have no morning sickness, slim ankles in your third trimester, and you find the "perfect" maternity clothes for the right price when you need them! (of course I must tell you, these things are likely to go just the opposite! lol)

Blessings upon you and your growing family!

P.S. I cannot stress enough: Sleep NOW while you can, any time you can! No matter if you have a single baby or twins, you won't be able to sleep like a woman with no kids EVER again! You will thank me. No one warned me, I haven't slept like that in years, and I am genuinely sad I didn't get this advice.

Genetics determines whether or not you are more likely to have twins so you do have a change.

However, high HcG levels are not a reliable indicator.

I took my pregnancy test 5 days BEFORE my period was due and got a clear positive and I'm just having one.

Despite common misconceptions home pregnancy tests (urine tests) doesn't necessarily detect the HCG level (only the presence of HCG). The boldness of the positive line does not correlate to the level of HCG in your urine

I took a pregnancy test 7 days before my period was due and the line was so bold and i was not pregnant with twins.

Yes, its possible. The woman's family history determines the twinning.
