No, that's incorrect.

The Zune Marketplace is hooked into the Zune interface program, just as the iTune store is hooked into the iTunes program. But this has nothing whatsoever to do with what can play on the Zune itself.

The Zune software will load any WMA, AAC, or MP3 files you have on your system. You can sync these to the Zune directly, or have files over a certain bitrate recoded to fit better. For example, I rip everything from CD to variable bitrate MP3s (using the LAME encoder) that are usually an average of 200-250kb/s. When I sync to the Zune, they get re-encoded to the Zune as 128kb/s WMAs.

But yeah, anything you get in MP3 format, or non-DRMed AAC or WMA will play on the Zune. It will not play DRMed AAC files from the iTunes store, and it won't play "Plays 4 Sure" DRMed WMA files. But any old MP3 is fine.

False.

Well you cannot download songs from the Zune.

But you can download Mp3's from limewire, import them into the Zune software, and then sync them to your Zune.

An Mp3 is an Mp3. It's the universal player.

Songs from the Zune store (As off now) offer locked songs in WMA format. MP3's are unlocked music files and a Zune, iPod, Creative Zen, iRiver, iClix, etc. all accept.

That is correct. The Zune can only download music songs or videos from the website Zune Marketplace. However the Zune can run many types of file formats such as mp3, m4a, m4b, mp4, wmv, mov, mp4 and can be transfered from your unit to your laptop or desktop computer.
