for animals of course LOL on a more serious note the reason I ask is sometimes when people have indoor pets they leave them without the spay or neuter. my avatar doggie who was my grandchild doggie died from mammary gland cancer in 04. the vet said it happens especially in larger breed dogs if they were not spayed. It is almost always fatal so think about it if you have an unspayed female. there are a few breeds it affects most look up mammary gland cancer to see if yours is at risk. I wish I had known this years ago and would have had Shadow spayed

yes, all around.

all of my animals have been spayed & castrated. it's hard to lose them, especially to something so preventable - i'm very sorry for your loss. it is nice of you to turn this into a way of educating other people so they might not have to go thru it too. (and it happens in every breed, of any size, for those of you with small dogs as well...not to mention other things like pyrometra or testicular cancer which are quite common for "intact" dogs too.)

and as of two days ago, i am spayed too, but for entirely different reasons than mammary cancer. i simply didn't want any more "puppies," lol.

whilst i finished breeding Cornish Rexes (teach cats) I now neuter and spay any cat interior the domicile. I nonetheless teach, yet in basic terms interior the regulate type. Its numerous artwork to handle unaltered cats and preserving them separated and happy. and that i think that any cat that may not a teach high quality purebred in a respectable breeding application - could be neutered/spayed by potential of three-4 months previous and in no way allowed even one "unintended" muddle.

I have four cats--two females and 2 males. All spayed and neutered. Our dog is about 14 years old, and he's fixed, too.
Health benefits aside, I want to be sure that we have no kittens or puppies! Too many homeless animals in shelters as it is, and that just breaks my heart.

I'm so sorry for your grandchild's loss, losing a pet is very painful!
And yes, I have two female dogs, and both are spayed!

Both of my cats are indoor pets.

My female cat is spayed. (She did have two litters prior by one of my moms male cats when I lived with her).

My male cat isn't yet neutered. (He's about 5 months old, and will be neutered in another month).

: )

I don't have any pets right now. I don't have room in my apartment and no yard. I do plan on getting a dog when we get our house, and I'm definately getting him/her spayed/neutered.

3 Neutered 1 spayed. Although I told the males I was taking them to be "tutored"...took awhile for them to forgive me on that one.

I do offer my sincere condolences for your loss. In reference to the first question. I have effectively been neutered/castrated/emasculated by my brother in law who's an absolutely idiotic, malicious c-nt, and that's what we call people like him in medical jargon.

I don't have a pet, but yes, I am "spayed" so I won't bring any unwanted "litters" into the world.

I am yes...and my puppy has to have one more set of shots next month and then a month after that he will be getting fixed. He'll be old enough then.
