Sorry, but trying to find an unbiased web site is like trying to find the goose that lays the golden egg.
The most important thing in the world I can say advice wise, is don't believe anyone. Take the information in stride and if something hits a cord with you, go and find the information yourself to either prove or disprove what's been said.
No party does everything right, but some do have agenda's that are sly and devious.
I'm an independant for that reason. No matter who it is I vote fore, I start off neutral at the beginning, then I start collecting the information as time goes by. When people are found out to have lied to me, or had a hidden agenda, I never consider them again. They have just lost my vote.
Some will try to use lying, but some will try to get you emotionally involved with their news or position and hope that the emotion over rides your brain.
In general, It seems to me that the Democrats stand for larger Government. That might take the shape of helping people out with programs for education or health...but where is the money going to come from ? Americans work 3 months out of the year to pay taxes, who wants to donate 4....or 6...or 9 ? Government hasn't always panned out on some of these programs as well, even though it is well intentioned, it doesn't always work. If you really want to get mad, look at the waste of tax money that we already give the Government...no matter who is in charge. Kickbacks ? Discontinued programs that we are still paying for ? Earmarks ? Pork Projects ?
There's also been questions as to if this is a conspiracy to make people dependant on Government or if its all that sincere. Its up to you to decide.
The republicans seem to be for a smaller Governemen, one less bureaucratical or in your face. They preach independance and a "can do" spirit however, this too has problems. When people fall upon hard times or have had just plain bad luck happen to them, some can't apply for healthcare, because they can't afford it. Some couldn't in the past get their prescription drugs, or needed to sacrifice one drug so they could afford another one. These people aren't all just indigents, and they "fall through the cracks" during all the talk about independence.
Both parties have strengths and weakness's. And voting for a 3rd party usually from a practical point of view is a waste becasue there hasn't been a 3rd party winner for a long long time back in history. So you would be voting your heart or conscious, but your vote would be taken away from one of the fore-runners...called splitting the vote.
GL on your decision whatever it might be.

Between now and next November, Google up each political party that the State of California recognizes. (You can get a list from the county registrar's office).

READ each party's platform. Find out what they want (you) to stand for.

If you cannot agree to any of their platforms, do not vote for them, nor for any candidate who claims membership. Vote for someone else. If the field is too limited, either write in someone's name whom you think could do the job, or, hold your nose, and vote for the candidate you feel will do the least amount of damage.

I'd recommend against *ever* voting for any incumbent, on the assumption that one term (or more) has corrupted them, but that's my view.

Make a point of attending a political rally or two between now and next November. The party doesn't matter: The point is to discover the underlying CRAP that goes on, (and keep your eyes open).

Register as non-affiliated. (Make'em work for your vote.)

I dont really know any places to go and find out. But I do suggest not just voting for a political party but vote for the person themselves. Most normal people have different views on different issues. They may be Democrat or Republican depending on the subject. So look for the actual CANIDATE that matches your views the closest not just the party..

No use in knowing the political party. Better try to find a good candidate who has highest regard for morality and vote for him ignoring the party.

First you must know what you believe in, what you want for our country. Then you can decide which person to vote for. If you just go by the party you will be disappointed,

You have to decide what you believe, in lawyers or self reliance.

If you think lawyers are our salvation vote Democratic otherwise vote Republican.

If you feel the Government knows how to spend your money better then you do vote Democratic otherwise vote Republican.

If you think America is the worst terrorist nation in the world vote Democratic otherwise vote Republican.

If you think gays should get married vote Dem otherwise vote Republican.

If you think woman have the right to kill their own babies a week before they are due to give birth, vote Democrat otherwise vote Republican
