Okay. I've read the book many times but never have been able to answer this question....

In The chapter, Kings Cross...

When Harry has the talk with Dumbledore, there is the whimpering creature in the corner. J.K refers to it several times in the capter but the book never mentioned what it was.

Does anyone know what or who the thing was?
Or, If you don't know...take your best guess.

The only thing i could think of was maybe the part of Voldemort's soul that was latched onto Harry??

You're completely correct! Dumbledore says to Harry, "there's nothing you can do for it now" or something of the variation. There was nothing Harry could do for that peice of the soul. The only thing he could do now was to go back and try to make Voldemort repent what he did, to regret it, to feel sorry, so he wouldn't end up like that piece of the soul.

I've always believed it was the part of Voldemort's soul that was in Harry. It was, I don't quite remember the exact description, but a deformed baby? And a baby represents the purity and innocence of a child but Voldemort's soul has been ripped and deformed so much from splitting it that it no longer resembles a baby anymore.

You've got it, it was that part of Voldemort's soul. The only one who can help it is Voldemort, and only if he feels remorse for his crimes.

Yes, because part of Voldemort's soul was on Harry; so Harry had to die to kill Voldemort
