What states require helmets, and which don't?

It would be nice to get input from all 50 U.S. states, AND from riders outside the states as well. How are the helmet laws in Queensland?

I know about at least 3 states:

Maryland: Required by all riders.

West Virginia: Required by all riders.

Pennsilvania: Required for all riders under the age of 18, and all riders over 18 who posess less then 2 years riding experance. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks Everyone.

I just want to thank everyone for yours answers...... Now for the realy tough part. To pick the best answer. I want to thank Ride on, yaafm, and ozraikat for their links to some very informative sites.
I wish I could split it between the three of you. But I'm going to go with ozraikat, being he/she is the only one from outside the U.S. to contribute.

It doesn't matter if you are just sarting out on a bicycle or have graduated to the motorcycle it is LAW in ALL of Australia to wear a helmet .
All helmets also have to meet a standard called the AS1698 (AS = Australian Standards) and if it doesn't then it cannot be sold or worn within Australia. Tthis is to ensure that YOU the rider stay as safe as possible and that ALL dodgy helmet manufactureres do not get onto to the market, and because helmets were had to be worn by law, LEGISLATION was written to ensure there was a safety standard and it is enforceable just to try to keep you as safe as possible.

New Jersey has helmet law. No exceptions everyone has to have a helmet, but no where else have I seen so many people riding with "decorative" helmets and illegal DOT stickers.

Wisconsin - Instructional permit or under 18 required.

Of course, being the home of Harley, you've got lots of people fighting it. They would rather site the "dangers" associated with helmets, the infringement on their freedom, and have us scrape their carcasses off the pavement at taxpayers expense when they wreck at 5 m.p.h.

New Hampshire - required if under 18.
As long as we get Federal highway money, anyway.
