We atheists are freethinking individuals who are able to see the Big Picture without the blinders of religion. We do not live in despair, quite the contrary; freethought is incredibly refreshing, liberating, and empowering. We are not nihilists, but lovers of life who see it as all the more precious because there's no eternal afterlife.
We do not need the bribe of heaven or the threat of hell to be good people, we believe in being good for its own sake. Through science and reason, we know more about the true nature of the world we live in than your religion could ever hope to offer. And this all equate to having a 'successful' life. Of course, bad things happen to all people, regardless of their world view.
We are not your enemy. Our quarrel is with irrationality, wishful thinking, superstitions, intellectual dishonesty, and all other forms of thinking that keep mankind mired in darkness, ignorance and hate.................!

My dear friend
I would like to answer this question. To have a disbelief in anything a person should know everything about that thing.
suppose a chemistry professor denies the presence of any compound he should know fully about chemistry. Similarly when you know everything about spirituality then u can deny god. I dont say u cant be successful without god. But you cant deny anyhting without knowing about the topic fully. Lets not
consider anything called god but we can 100 % say that
everyone has got a mind. isn't it?
When we are alone nobody is with us, our mind is with us
that is what elders say that god is witnessing all our good or bad deeds. Its no one other than our own mind which is believed as god but no one has realised that

"Believing" is "be-loving," "holding dear." "Living" is something an organism does. Being "successful" is decided by whatever standards, e.g. monetary, fame, personal esteem, etc.
"God" is Omnipresent, and per freedom of choice, souls, people, may veil energy so as to function without a direct God-connection.
What coherence the soulfield attains, which persists at finer levels, is "salvation." Thus a soul which is loving, kind, truthful, and suchlike, may find itself rising, either in a musical contemplation experience, as in attending a concert ("Music and the Soul," Kurt Leland, "The Secret Power of Music," David Tame), in dreams ("Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, "The Master of Lucid Dreams," Olga Kharitidi, M.D., "The Masters and Their Retreats," Mark Prophet), or post-passing ("The Great Divorce," C. S. Lewis, "Men in White Apparel," Ann Ree Colton), and such lessons as are eternal, progress the lifestream per that embodiment. A new ordained soulfield initative or embodiment occurs, into energy patterns previously sown, for more lessons and opportunities for progress ("Reborn in the West: The Reincarnation Masters," Vicki MacKenzie, "Life before Life," Jim Tucker, M.D., "The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?", Free and Wilcock, http://www.divinecosmos.com "The Beautiful Story of a Master," Louise-Marie Frenette, "Babies Remember Birth," David Chamberlain, Ph.D.).
The authors give a quick learning curve as to how the game is played.
best regards,
j.

Yes, God made that possible for us. His love is unconditional. He lets the sun shines for both believers and non-believers.
If success for you is only material, then, that is very attainable. But, if success is measured by your closeness to God, then, believing God is a pre-requisite.

I believe it is possible to do any thing with out a god thing in your life.
The one thing I am very impressed with is the passion that all the other have answered the question with as they all have a different look at it. This says to me that with or with out we humans are a really good for the most part and that is nice to know. Thanks to all.

Better than believing in God in order to be successful. That statement indicates that God is merely a means to your end and that your success is more important than God.
If you look at our world, you would see evil godless men are those who wield the most power. (Not that you have to be evil and godless to be powerful, of course.)

There are many successful people in the world and they do not necessarily believe in any one deity but still consider themselves devout and morally upstanding citizens.

Belief in a God is not conditional to being successful, or happy, or honest, or loving or moral.
