I always feel bad for saying no, because they're so many people around and everything...but whatever...I'd rather donate to my own funds.

You're right and don't feel bad. Just tell them that you already have funds set aside for donations.

I donate a dollar every few months.. but I don't feel bad saying no.

They know asking gets more donations than not asking.

I don't hate it when people ask, but I, like you, prefer to donate to my own causes.

I dont mind that they ask. But I would rather give my money somewhere where I know the people will actually get it. I prefer local cherities because they help people in my area.

well then Joel, tell them straight that u have your own fund.
they'll sure get it. but then again babe, $1 is not that much isnt it? so u can help many more people when u donate to both funds, aint it babe? *winks*

that's fine to not want to donate, but to say you hate it is a little offensive. In any event, you should not feel bad saying no. if it makes you feel better, you could say "No thanks, I donated yesterday."
