It can very well harm the baby. You can get dehydrated and throw your body into labor. That happened to me when I was 5 months pregnant. Luckily, the hospital was able to stop the labor and rehydrate me. My baby is now a healthy 10 year old.
Go see your doctor. She can prescribe medicine that could ease your nausea.
I found that the one thing that I could take in small sips without throwing it up was strawberry flavored milk, like Nestle's brand. After I had my baby, I suggested to friends of mine (who were going through the morning sickness thing) to try the strawberry milk and it worked for them too. Some of them hate the stuff but they managed to drink it and get better.

This happened to me too and lasted for about two months. My doctor almost put me to the hospital.
My family made sure that I got my liquids. I was so sick and dehydrated, sometimes I could not even get up from my bed. My mom's and husband's creativity helped me through these two terrible months.
My husband froze cranberry juice mixed with water. He gave me an ice-cube, while watching TV, while we were sitting around, or when I woke up.
My mother made me eat cucumbers and tomatoes a couple of times a day. They are pretty watery, so it was better than nothing.
Later we discovered that chicken soup for lunch was my saviour. We cooked organic chicken (do not buy pre-made broth), and I drank it from a cup. It got to this point, when I had to have chicken soup every day. Canned soups and chain restaurant soups (Panera, Friday's) did not work for me. They made me sicker, as they added too many spices. Only homemade soups stayed down. You can customize it according to your taste.
My mom also made fresh ginger tea (out of fresh ginger). I did not add any sugar or honey. Mint tea worked too, but we used mint from our garden.
There was one thing that I learned pretty early, do not eat or drink in large quantities. Just sip and sip all day long! Even after you throw up, make sure you sip something. Experiment with different soups, teas and drinks (try tomato juice) and stick to them until you feel better. Also, ask your loved ones to support you. If you can, make sure that there is someone around you all day long. Maybe move in with your mother until you feel better. .
Good luck, hope any of these help!

is it just water that you cant drink or all fluids? The best thing for nausea is flat ginger ale, it has sugar in it so it helps you with energy and ginger is a natural remedy for nausea. Just sip it slowly, don't try to drink in large gulps, sucking on ice cubes will help as well.

Try either varying the temperature of the water to see if that helps at all. You can also try sucking on ice chips. At least you get some water slowly that way.
