It really isn't cool at all and could lead to all kinds of embarrassing rumors...

yep sure have. nothing wrong with it nor is it a 'gay' thing to do. All guys whether straight, gay or bi, are curious about what other guys have so when the opportunity arises they will look (or at least try to sneak a peek. But if they are going to look, they might as well be brave and just outright compare the darn things.
The first time it feels a little weird to be standing there showing it all to another guy and looking at his. But after a few minutes the embarassment wears off and you can get down to talking about what you see and have in a more relaxed manner.
Sometimes it just seems to happen between guys, especially if they are in a situation where they are showing everythign anyway such as in th eshower room at school. But in a one on one situation it may take some conversation about size and development and the like to get things warmed up enough for the guys to agree to show off. And if all else fails, there's nothign like some good porn to make little things pop up and a few suggestive words to get them out in the open for some pressure relief.

Yes. Everyone does at some point or another (just most guys don't admit to it). Every guys is curious about how they "measure up" compared to other guys. The fact that penis size is the most frequent question on this forum proves that beyond a doubt! So most guys when given the opperatunity have or will try to get a sneak peak at what someone else was packing.
A lot of times younger boys in their early teens will compare penises with each other and every now and then older teenaged or youger twentysomething year old guys will whip them out in front of each other to compare. Someone will always get embarrassed after this because one guy will always be clearly smaller than the rest and one guy will be happy because he will clearly be much larger than every one else. That's just the way it goes. It's a status thing for the most part. For guys that haven't been lucky enough to play this game or observe another guy out the corner of their eye, they pretty much have to rely on what they see in porn or what other people tell them (which is usually lies and misinformation) to figure out where they measure up.

Yes when I was 12 to 15 years old on and off. (And in some playing "doctor" when I was just a small kid with both boys and girls.)
You need a close friend or two to do it. In my case it was a close cousin. Or just look around the showers at school or at the urinal. It is normal. Men do it all the time. They want to identify with other male friends. It does not mean you are gay although that is all right too. We look to see size, whether they are circumcised (important to me) or not, etc. It was exciting and pleasurable to any young adolescent especially.
If you are going to do it, just raise the question of how a close friend feels about it. My cousin and I just happened to be swimming naked in a mountain stream. One thing led to another. It was very natural. We did a lot of mutual masturbation and pissing together. And a lot of swimming in the summertime in the nude.
I remember a boy scout hike in the woods. We built a fire and had lunch. Then the troop formed a circle and all pissed together to put the fire out. It was fun. We all had different shapes and sizes of penises. All but 2 kids were circumcised.
Eventually my cousin and I got interested in girls, dated a lot, and both married and now have small children. Our boys are all circumcised and identify with each other and their fathers.

I have before, it's normal to be curious. How to start? Just ask one of your closet friends all they can say is ok or no.
