He is the only purely pro-life candidate. He is fairly strong on illegal immigration (does not believe that they should get welfare or other benefits, with the exception of the children) and is not flip-flopping on issues.

Rudy is a social liberal
McCain is a illegal promoter

Huckabee has no money for campaigning and is moving up. Personally, I do not think his stance on illegals is strong enough, but like him other than that.

Victor...after the last debate, she is losing ground. Considering that NO candidate has ever genereated such hatred from the opposing party as Hitlary, I do not even think she will win the primary. More and more dems are realizing that she has almost 100% of conservatives hate her...truly detest the woman. And even many of the liberals I have talked to are very opposed to Hillary AND Obama. They want to see Edwards step it up, or some of them actually think that Gore should step back in to save their party.

I laugh at people who claim Hitlary is a shoe in.

BOBO...that is funny. I looked at a group of polls to see where Huckabee compared to Ron Paul. Here is a list of those where Huckabee was ahead of Ron Paul: ABC, American Research Group, CBS, CNN, Cook Political Report, Gallup, Marist, NBC, Pew, Quinnipiac, USA Today, Zogby. On 2 of them, Ron Paul was so low that he fell into the "Unsure" category.
Now here is a list of those I found with Ron Paul leading Huckabee:

Perhaps Ron Paul ought to ask Huckabee for a job.

Part of his rise has to do with the withdrawal of Senator Brownback. Social conservatives are a substantial part of the Republican Party and Senator Brownback and Governor Huckabee were the only two solid social conservatives running. As such, some of Senator Brownback's supporters are going to Governor Huckabee. Likewise, many of the social conservatives have flirted with being pragmatic and going with someone who was not a true believer, but none of the other Republican candidates looks like someone who will win the general election. If it is looking like the Republicans are not going to win, it is better in their view to stand for what is right than to sell their soul for a losing candidate.

Whether or not Governor Huckabee will get enough votes to seriously contend in Iowa and the South is not yet clear, but he is getting a second look.

I attribute it to the fact that he is the ONLY republican candidate, and possibly the ONLY presidential candidate that will seriously speak to the issue of the "Fair Tax" proposal.

He understands that it could actually make a difference, instead of staying with the same, unfair system that we have now. I don't want more of the same! Give me someone with new ideas, new passion!

I don't vote for Republicans but Huckabee is a good guy.

His only chance is in Iowa -- a long shot, but a strong finish would put him in the spotlight, give him a chance to make his case nationally.

I think its general distrust of some of the base to the front runners stands on major issues that they sound un-solid on.

His name ends with "bee", as such Google searches for the highly-acclaimed "bee" movie also yield hits to "Hucka-bee", hence contributing to his popularity... Now let's all spell "Potato(e)".
