I mean when your specific someone is flirting anything that is not his/her gender, do you believe when he/she says that "it is just a social funny game", or do you suspect that he/she is going into something? Or at least, would like to!

I flirt with EVERYone.. I mean everyone, from little old ladies to dirty old men and everyone in between...

It's always harmless for me... I can't speak for your beau though, it just depends on how much you trust his word and character...

Richard has analyzed this concept, thoroughly and informatively!

Just try getting insights, also, from this Billy Joel song (lyrics) :-

Title :Billy Joel - An Innocent Man

Some people stay far away from the door
If there's a chance of it opening up
They hear a voice in the hall outside
And hope that it just passes by

Some people live with the fear of a touch
And the anger of having been a fool
They will not listen to anyone
So nobody tells them a lie

I know you're only protecting yourself
I know you're thinking of somebody else
Someone who hurt you
But I'm not above
Making up for the love
You've been denying you could ever feel
I'm not above doing anything
To restore your faith if I can
Some people see through the eyes of the old
Before they ever get a look at the young
I'm only willing to hear you cry
Because I am an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am

Some people say they will never believe
Another promise they hear in the dark
Because they only remember too well
They heard somebody tell them before

Some people sleep all alone every night
Instead of taking a lover to bed
Some people find that it's easier to hate
Than to wait anymore

I know you don't want to hear what I say
I know you're gonna keep turning away
But I've been there and if I can survive
I can keep you alive
I'm not above going through it again
I've not above being cool for a while
If you're cruel to me I'll understand

Some people run from a possible fight
Some people figure they can never win
And although this is a fight I can lose
The accused is an innocent man
I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
An innocent man

You know you only hurt yourself out of spite
I guess you'd rather be a martyr tonight
That's your decision
But I'm not below
Anybody I know
If there's a chance of resurrecting a love
I'm not above going back to the start
To find out where the heartache began

Some people hope for a miracle cure
Some people just accept the world as it is
But I'm not willing to lay down and die
Because I am an innocent man

I am an innocent man
Oh yes I am
An innocent man

With some people, flirtation is a way of life. They flirt as much as they can (and not always with the opposite gender).

In contrast, some people never learn to flirt. They go though life missing this "communication skill." Any attempt that they make looks like a poor try to copy something out of a movie.

Innocent? Not always. Deceptive? Often. Effective? More often than not.

Flirtation can mean nothing or it can be the motivated by the unconscious mind. It can be a form of sexual harassment or the opening move in complex plan, not just a "social funny game."

Mormons believe that homosexual behavior is forgiveable. The bishop does have a responsibility to see that false doctrine is not taught in the Church, including a Sunday School class, but the bishop does not have a responsibility to answer every question put to a Sunday School teacher. Perhaps he felt that the Sunday School teacher had answered the question well enough, without offending the asker of the question, or offending the relatively new Sunday School teacher. It is so hard to know what to do because people are so easily offended. We believe that you should go on from weak faith to strong faith to knowledge. It would be best for you to have more than "blind" faith. God does not despise any of his children. There is an unforgiveable sin, the sin against the Holy Ghost, but it is not unforgiveable because it offends God so much. It is not unforgiveable because God hates that person. God still loves the one who sins against the Holy Ghost. The reason it is unforgiveable is because that person has reached a point where nothing will make a difference in that person's life to help them return to God. They have gone beyond the point where God can help them return to Him. Once you truly understand God's teachings you recognize that God is always 100% right. There are "gay" people at BYU. You can be an openly "gay" person and be accepted to BYU. You risk being unable to complete your education at BYU if you as a BYU student have sex with a person who is not your spouse, whether you are "gay" or "straight." It is a violation of the honor code to fornicate, but it is forgiveable.

A look across a room is an innocent flirtation unless that person or you is with someone, then it is just rude. I think that when you're specific someone is an outrageous flirt, they have no respect for you. They are playing games that are hurtful to you and that is exactly what they mean to do. What a waste of your time to have to sit there while they flirt with everyone else. If they wish to be with you, then they should respect you and your time. Most outrageous flirts have serious mental problems and use that ploy to take away your confidence and show you. I find it passive aggressive cr*p and my advice is to get rid of anyone that doesn't treat you like you would like to be treated and treat you good all the time. I dated one of those for a pretty long time and it FINALLY dawned on me that he was just a good looking jerk without much of a personality or manners. It's not so much that he wanted to do something to someone else, he was doing it to me. He knew exactly what he was doing and he was telling me he could do as he liked and I could accept it or too bad. And then there was another bf that used to flirt for serious purposes and we were going to a party. I actually was dreading it because I was supposed to sit there and watch him flirt. This time I came dressed to kill, flirted outrageously with everyone and guys were falling all over me. My bf grabbed me by the arm and told me we were leaving-he was furious I was having the good time he usually has. We got outside and I told him-See what it's like to go places with you. How do you like it? Our relationship ended when he punched me in the nose.

Absolutely. Both members of the sexes innocently flirt to get say a better deal on a car, or extra whipped cream on their coffee drink, or even just to make someone feel better about themselves - the grocery clerk that askes an older woman for ID for alcohol, or the patron of the bar that compliments the bartender, etc. etc. It is a social game, and we all play it. Even if you don't know you participate, chances are you've either done it or have been on the receiving end of it. Its harmless and natural.

It's possible, but it's really hard to tell when it's happening if it's truly innocent. I think you have to know someone well to know if it's innocent. Even then, the idea of flirting is different to a lot of different people.

I knew someone who was flirting, just for fun, with his business partner & in a matter of days, the fool fell in love. I wouldn't call that innocent.
