Not at all. It's only tacky on the third or fourth : ) Seriously, I don't think it's tacky at all. Babies require so much, and new and safer baby stuff comes out every year, it would be very expensive to try and buy everything yourself. I always buy a pack of diapers with a baby gift, you can never have too many!

I personally believe that it's okay to have a party for each baby you have, but having a second "shower" (as in people showering you with gifts) should only happen if you are having a baby several years after your first, or if your second baby is the oppisite gender.

For example-I know someone who has a 10 month old boy and is pregnant with another boy who is due shortly after her son turns 1. She doesn't need a shower-she can just have a cake and ice cream type party where people can bring diapers if they want to, or not.

People who are in a situation like mine-having a girl after having a boy, and the kids will be 4 years apart-have probably gotten rid of all of their baby stuff and need things for the new gender. (And I'm not saying that because it's my situation. I actually didn't have a baby shower OR party with my son, and won't be having one for our daughter either.)

But, as always, it's your decision and no one can tell you what to do.

Need more info to be accurate. To me, it sounds like you had a miscarriage or complication. (not trying to be rude) If that is the case, you may just want to have a party but not ask that people bring gifts, as that could get expensive for your friends.

Though having a baby shower for every individual baby is not "tacky".

NO!!!! It is not tacky to have a second baby shower. Me personally I don't have children but I have alot of friends and family members who do and they've done it.

No. A baby shower is not ONLY a means to get the things you need for the baby, it is also a celebration of new life. Every life deserves to be celebrated.

Congratulations! Have the shower and celebrate the baby!
Peace,

It is not tacky, but they are not typically done. I think people believe that you have most of what you need from the first baby.

Honestly, I think its kinda tacky. The point of a baby shower is to get things for the baby...clothes, car seats, blankets, stroller, etc. You already have that stuff. I have NEVER known anybody to have a baby for their second child. If it was from a previous partner, then if his side of the family wanted to throw you one, then it wouldnt be as tacky.

No way! The second baby (or 3rd or 4th) is just as special as the first.

No, especially if the children are far apart in age, different sexes, or you weren't expecting to have more children and gave away all the items from the previous child(ren).

Not at all. The new baby needs clothes too and the attention to you is wonderful too.
