It happens? He could be looking for a ****, or he may not. Remember, he's getting older, and may be intimidated by women around his age as women show age alot more than men. Him dating a 19-year-old may be his way of trying to forget he's really aging.

As long as both of you are comfortable with the relationship, I would say go ahead. You are an ADULT, not a child- which is what a lot of the other responders here don't seem to want to recognize. It's not as if you were 15 or 16 and wanted to do this- you are past that now, and people need to realize this. So there is an age gap in your relationship- but this has been true in a lot of situations, so it really is not that big a deal. Go for it !!!

Well i think the max age difference is 10 years but i really think he should find someone a little bit older than 19. Maybe like 36 37 but anyway its all about your choice but my opinion your 19 you still have Alot of years to experience love you shouldn't settle down with an old hag

You have to ask why does a 45 year old want to date you? He remembers when Madonna was an unknown, he probably voted for Reagan when he was President. What does he have in common with you? What does he want from you? Intellectual discussions about what it was like when Gorbachev was in power? Views on the rise of MTV in the early 80s, or a discussion on how it felt with the US hockey team beat the Russians.
Or is it something else....
You can say 'age doesn't matter' but you really, really have to wonder anytime someone 20+ years older is interested in you. You have to ask yourself 'what is the deal with this guy?

Yes, i don't agree with such a big age gap, especially when the guy is old enough to be your father. I have known a 20 yr old who went ot with a 40 yr old, they were happy for a while until the 40 yr found someone closer to there own age. i say stick to people no more then 10 yrs older.

Well, I can say I find nothing wrong with it if both parties are okay. My husband and I have been together for awhile, even have a son. He is 47 and I am 21, we've been together for a couple years. To me, age is just a number, and it's about personality. I have always been attracted to older men, probably for their maturity or that they are usually more experienced. If you are disgusted by him wanting to date you, then tell him. It's is your choice as well as his.
I have to say my favorite part about what people think are the looks we get when we are out in public doing our business, it's funny to know that society looks down on individuality and personal choices. I've never had daddy issues either, I just love him for who he is, and he loves me for who I am. He's more than just a husband, he's also the person I share everything else with.

That is like dating your parent! If you are having to ask the question, you are having good feelings about the inadvisability of the suggestion. Tell him NO.
