I am not wealthy but we are comfortable. I agree that it would be great if wealthy people could help people find shelter and Help educate them so they can help theirself.
as I said money is something we have enough of to be considered just under middle class. I would love to share it and I do but more so I share my time and my car getting poor people to the places they need to be to seek help or food stamps. I seek clothing for others that have no way to shop.
We give hygene products to people that can't afford them. I have helped poor people move into stinky dirty homes and joined them to help make the place liveable. All I am saying here is if you do not have money why not share what you do have. Bless you all

i agree with you on the most part. well, i don't believe that being wealthy is selfish. it is the way you use your wealth that is selfish. like all those little hollywood socialites. I can't stand it when people don't do anything for charity and spend all their time and money on partying and shopping.
i don't begrudge oprah winfrey, though. she donates millions and millions of dollars each year to charity. i don't mind that she has an expensive house and cars because of the work she does for charity. i think the woman is entitled to a few luxuries.

Its her money, you can't expect her to have the same beliefs as you. If she wanted to give it to the dog, let her. I have an expensive car, why I earned it because I worked hard, so im not going to go get because somebody else can't. If you work hard to get your money, you can spend it as you wish. You only live once. If you care so much for others why dont you give the money that you are talking about and stop dictating and expecting every one to have the same. That communism the last time I checked and we are a democracy.

I don't think it is selfish that one is wealthy. But i think it is the obligation of the rich to provide for the poor. In other words, they can be rich but a part of that money should be donated to help those in need. what are they gonna do with all that money anyways?
and sweetie, their shoes aren't 500 dollars. heck, Most of the shoes made for us middle class citizens are more than that price. Most of those people you are talking about stuff their feet in shoes that cost probably about $2500 at least.

Working hard and giving some away is not selfish and not a bad thing. Unfortunately you are born in a world where money trumps the true essence of life. Do your best to make some kind of charitable contribution. You will look back on it with graciousness and fullfillment. Forget Leona Helmsley she is DEAD you know!

That sword cuts both ways. Where as I do agree with you it is not to the benefit of the nation to have people so rich that it's shameful and immoral on the other hand I do not agree with giving lazy people who dropped out of high school to have 3 and 4 babies others people money. Or all the other knuckle heads in our country who live above their means and wind up in the street.

I think everyone in the world should put their money together and split it evenly. Ironically, everyone would be a millionaire. There are some exceptionally generous wealthy people in the world, but unfortunately the media focuses on people like Paris Hilton and that dumb lady.

Being wealthy is not selfish. Some extremely wealthy people are as you describe, but many many give large sums to charities and personally promote a cause. Unfortunately, Hollywood wealthy are mostly throwing money at foolish superficial organizations. Still, it is their money to do as they wish. As offensive as many of them are, they are as free to enjoy the rights we all enjoy. They have to live with themselves just as we have to live with our own decisions, good or bad.

I do not agree. What about people like Bill Gates and many others who earned their financial status? They worked hard to accomplish what they have. They give to charities and try to help with causes. They don't have to but they do. They have every right to live in their million dollar homes and drive their fancy cars. They earned it. You could earn it as well.
