It depends on who it is and if they really mean it. I think we all know when a compliment is sincere. I like to conduct myself with a very forthright approach. I am always polite but I leave a little room for when I am having difficulty. What I mean is that it is hard to flatter somebody when you are in pain or having a really bad day. Everyone has a bad day every once and a while. This is why it is so important to read other people emotions when ever possible.Then we can play off the good vibes and tone down the displaced emotions.

most people mean to compliment me when they complement me .and i am a sucker for that

I am not immune to flattery, just as long as it is not ``sucking-up`` by someone who is otherwise incompetent.
