Have we Native Americans gotten along with "the White Man" (as they used to call Caucasians) yet?

overall, i would say so, but this is based off of what i've seen and experienced.

however, there are some still out there that hold grudges. (no, i'm not saying that they don't have good reason.)

Seriously - it depends on WHICH white man you are talking about. With the limited amount I know about the awful way Natives were treated, I get along well with most of them because they know that I "get it". I would say that virtually ALL of the Natives that I know are really nice people. Some are nasty, but I make it a point not to get to know them! And as there are more white folks than Natives, there are a lot more white JERKS too!

I am considered white. My grandmother was 1/2 Cherokee and 1/2 Turkish. I have no tribal affiliations. However I do not fit in with most white people. I hate to say it but most are racist. Even if they claim not to be..deep down inside they are. I have noticed that I mostly connect with people who are of mixed race in some way. This has not been intentional. I found my soul mate at the age of 46 after two previous marraiges. His grandmother was Cherokee.

Generally speaking yes, but I believe there is still some resentment, actually I know for a fact that there is, we still have open wounds, but in order to heal we need to get along because we are living in their society.

All I can say about this subject is I am a white person who has hung around many many other white ppl in my lifetime and I can't remember a single time I heard one of them say "dam those freekin Indians, I hate them"......maybe it's just the ppl I've met, but I don't think not one white person even thinks about Native Americans - unless we are going to the casino mayyyybe

I dunno how Amerindians feel about white ppl; I never asked them....if an Amerindian is racist against me then it wouldn't affect me in the least
