I just couldn't stomach watching the people that they are calling Country artists these days killing the art and accepting awards for it. They even tried to entice some people that remember a time when music was real into watching by having a performance by the Eagles. It didn't work with me.

I agree Su, they do not belong there. I just think that they had them on to try and make some 70's and80's fans suffer through the other crap to see them.

No , I didn't watch it either. In fact I haven't watched it in "SEVERAL " years. The last one I saw was when Vince Gill, Allen Jackson, Clint Black and George Strait were all via for CMA artist of the year. Back then when an artist sang a song you knew who it was. Today they all sound alike, and the lyrics are all garbage. Country music is being lost.

I didn't watch the CMA either. It is just not the same as it once was. The music has changed from what it was 20 to 30 years ago.
PLEASE - give me a break - the Eagles are an ok group, but they DO NOT BELONG AT THE CMA!!!!!!!!!!

even if I wasn't at work I woud've passed on watching the CMA's. to tell the truth I usually avoid watching award shows because all it's just a suck up popularity contest.

NO, because except for George Strait, there wasn't much to do with country music, now when Ragweed, Randy Rogers Band, Kevin Fowler, and so on are getting their credit due I won't.

It's called growth.Itis the nature of music as well as people. Artists grow, they mature and their music evolves. If you do not understand this then you stuck in the past and really are an insult to the music genre you claim to love so much.
