Do Republicans love these cities? Or just the rest of America?

2007-11-08 16:18:50 · update #1

Elana, Republicans are the ones saying they love America, unless you know of some who are saying otherwise... it's not a generalization.

Republicans are in the process of destroying this country, ruining our reputation for Democracy, freedom and common decency as well as systematically taking away our civil liberties and dismantling The United States Constitution.

Yeah....not sure what your real question is...but I would imagine that it's not just the Rep's loving America... I do believe that is one thing at least the Rep's/Dems/Libs agree on, is that they all love America....the conflict is that each party believes they are the right vision for the future....You have to agree there has never been a division such as this in America... I mean seriously you have people basically sending death threats to those who are of different parties...and so who is to blame for this? I don't remember such a division with Clinton, so my opinion....(not that you really asked for it) is that Bush created the division and all the supporters of Bush are fueling it and hate anyone who is not "with" them.

Well, I've lived near #1 and now live near #2. Both are absolute cesspools. The mayor of Gary, who was just re-elected, proclaimed recently that there was no crime in his city (maybe because there's no one left there who isn't dead).

Even Adam West, mayor of Quahog, is more observant than this. Both cities are shining examples of what happens when you have one-party Democratic rule for decades. Detroit has lost nearly 60% of the population it had in the mid-1900's (2 million then, 800K today) and Gary makes the south side of Chicago look like Paradise.

Every time you make a generalization about a class of people (such as Republicans), you lower the debate.

We have no reason to believe that (generally) Republicans think any less of these states than any other segment of the population. They may not like the policies there.

Trying to stir up region hostility is just ... oh I don't know ... how about "childish"?

Republicans are still Americans. And if you check you will find them in every city you menctioned. Guess what we love our homes just as much as you if not more. If you lived in what was considered a Red state, wouldn't you still love your home? Oh and I live just south of Seattle and it just elected one of the most conservative city councils in the last 20 years.

Those are the areas that consider the world revolves around them, they have not any patience for those outside the city until they build their homes out there. This is also identical to the Sanctuary Cities list.

Uh oh. We are out numbered.

I think loving America doesn't have to do with political views. America is the most free country, but the politics are all about how to run it.

Some of those cities are the best ones! But I like Dallas, Texas, and Oklahoma City as well.
