I prefer home cooked meals (proper food, not out of a packet) but it's nice to go to a good restaurant sometimes and have something a bit different, perhaps something you wouldn't normally take the trouble to make at home .. and not have to worry about the clearing up afterwards!

I like both. I do all the home cooked meals, usually 5 to 6 times per week. I enjoy going out to a nice restaurant especially buffets.

Once a while for a change I go to restaurant to entertain someone but not really for food. There is no replacement of home cooked food which is prepared to our taste. That's not possible for any restaurant.

def home cooked. I like my food the way I like it! I used to work in a hotel and could tell you some horror stories about how they prep and cook meals in restaurants, besides the bloody portions are too small !!

I like restaurant food if they cook good food that I cannot produce myself at home, where I lack the knowledge of the cuisine. I still look forward to the occasional regional surprise and spend a large part of my vacations hunting for good restaurants. I detest the purveyors of 'Sunday Carveries', where you get a small quantity of overcooked thinly sliced meat together with thin tasteless gravy and mountains of mushy vegetables. If a restaurant has spagetti bolognaise, as well as chilli concarne on the menu, I give it a miss.

It really depends of the quality of the resturant meal and the quality of the home cooked meal. But i think when you cook a meal you kind of feel better
