It's entirely possible that no documention exists from that part of his life.
Go the library and check his name in a good general encyclopedia, such as Britannica. (Information on the web can be skimpy.) If you can't find anything there, perhaps you could write a bit about the era he lived in that may have formed the man he became--politics, culture, education, emerging technology, etc.
