It's possible, but it wouldn't be the best thing for the Yankees. However, I have a feeling that A-Rod and his agent Scott Boras might be coming to a rude awakening.

We may finally have seen the limit to free agency. I think that Boras has completely miscalculated A-Rod's bargaining power. With a bit of collusion throughout the league, (unofficially of course), no franchise can afford to pay $350M dollars to any one player. (Or at least not willing to pay). If so I think it's great. Boras talked A-Rod into dumping the Yankees for greener grasses. The only problem is that there may not be greener grasses.

Don't be surprised if you see both A-Rod and Boras come crawling back to the Steinbrenners looking for that original extension. And if that's the case, look for A-Rod to find himself a new agent.

I'm going to say no. Not only do I think that Tejada had some help from juice during his top years in the majors, but either way his best days are behind him.
He will come with a high price tag, he is not a good fielder, he is not a proven winner by any means.
He is not a terrible ballplayer by any means, I just don't see him being a good solution for the Yankees. He would sound more like a 2001 - 2007 Yankees off season aquistion, and those very aquisitions are the ones which have put the Yankees in the position that they are today.
I would personally prefer a lower cost or youthful option emphasizing on great fielding, above average or better speed and baserunning abilities, and above average hitting. Of course ARods numbers will be IMPOSSIBLE to replace, but if the Yankees emphasize on PITCHING they won't need as many runs to win.

How is Miguel Tejada to old? He is a year younger than A-Rod. He would be a great addition to the Yankees.

No Tejada would not be a good addition to the Yankees...He is old and he didn't have a great season last year....He was on the DL then placed on waivers by the O's...NO.....I think that the Yankees should look harder for a third basemen

that is a big no no.

I do think that Cashman should have considered trading Ian Kennedy for Miguel Cabrera, because 1- he is not swing and a miss pitcher and does not overpower the batters like Hughes and Joba do and 2- we have 8 young pitchers and we cant use all of them or keep all of them, so you have to give some to get some, and Santana turned down the offer from Minn, so now we know that he is up for grabs if we throw money at him.

but this is Cashman we are talking about. The guy works quietly. There could very well be a deal he is working on right now. Dont count A-Rod out yet.

edit: Jeter spoke, saying that the teams that won championships didnt have A-Rod's kind of player with those numbers. Its true. we dont need A-Rod's numbers to win. Coming from Jeter, I am positive A-Rod is not coming back. Jeter also said that he is not worried about Posada or Mo signing elsewhere, because they will return to the Bronx. Again, coming from Jeter, things seem clear to me.

miguel or jeter?
jeter

why would they yankees want to replace jeter?
would tejada play third?
they'd be better off trying to get drew henson back.
is that guy still even playing in the NFL?

I read recently that Baltimore has gotten no interest in Tejada and I think that speaks volumes. Plus Tejada is always the one saying he wants to be traded, then he wants to stay then he wants to be traded....a malcontent that probably poisons the clubhouse with his attitude.
