Its a cheap thing to do by the organization.

But look at it this way, he was a high 1st round draft pick in 2005,

Career stats:
34 games
70 receptions
986 yards
3 touchdowns

I do not know how much he's making but its going to be quite a bit. Since he has produced next to nothing for all that money Minnesota has given him....they are just trying to get a little back from him.

Still cheap though.

Well when you've gotten a broken down culpepper, brooks bollinger, brad johnson, and tavaris jackson throwing the ball around I wouldn't expect big numbers from him nor any viking receiver.

First of all, Rice Maniac, he wasn't "sued"... and for the others answering this question... he didn't just up and leave without saying anything... team officials met with him before he left and told him what the consequences would be...

Don't think the Vikings would have done that if the person missing the game would have been Adrian Peterson...

Pretty classless if you ask me...

that's the life of a football player. it is unfair indeed, but it works that way no matter where you play. you get punished for missing a game in high school and college as well, but you obviously don't pay a fine. besides, he has the money to afford it anyways. he probably the thousands of dollars in straight up cash.

I mean of course he was going to attend the funeral regardless, but shouldn't he have told the coaches that he was going to be out?

Don't they get bereavement leave for a few days? He probably was supposed to tell the coach and the player rep.

WHAT!!!!!!
YOU CAN NOT SUE A PLAYER FOR ATTENDING A FAMILY EMERGENCY!! THAT IS VERY DUMB OF THE VIKINGS AND I THINK HE WOULD WANT A TRADE TO GET RID OF THE VIKINGS.
