P=Poe (rt)? I know that P is the population (I am assuming that (rt) could be annual growth rate)....can someone please fill in the rest for me? Or if I have written it down incorrectly, please correct it =)

We know that 6.6 x 10 (to the ninth power) is our current population...
We know that .455% is a conservative rate of annual growth...

Please help me with the rest...Thanks

P = (Po)e^(rt)
^ is the computer symbol for exponent, Po is the initial population, r is the annual growth rate, t is the time. Filling in,
P = (6.6•10^9)e^(0.00455t)

In 2020, 12.2 years from now, the population will be
P = (6.6•10^9)e^[(0.00455)(12.2)]
P = (6.6•10^9)e^[0.0551]
P = (6.6•10^9)e^[0.0551]
P = (6.6•10^9)(1.05708) ...... that's 5.7% increase in 12 years
P = 6.98•10^9,
just under 7 billion.
