Yes I do,
Pika Chew,
There's so much I really wish I knew,
Lacking guidance; don't know what to do
Need answers to my prayers....

I imagine you can guess which Joni song means the most to me (it has been sung by many others, as well).

Answer Me, My Love
by Gerhard Winkler and Fred Rauch; English lyric by Carl Sigman

Answer me
Oh my love
Just what sin have I been guilty of
Tell me how I came to lose your love
Please answer me sweetheart

You were mine yesterday
I believed that love was here to stay
Won't you tell me how I've gone astray
Please answer me my love

If you're happier without me
I'll try not to care
But if you still think about me
Please listen to my prayer

You must know that I've been true
Won't you say that we can start anew
In my sorrow now I turn to you
Please answer me my love

If you're happier without me
I'll try not to care
But if you still think about me
Please listen to my prayer

You must know that I've been true
Won't you say that we can start anew
In my sorrow now I turn to you
Please answer me my love

BUT, I guess you wanted one actually BY Joni--so here's one that played in the jukebox in my early bartending days:

THE LAST TIME I SAW RICHARD

The last time I saw Richard was Detroit in '68
And he told me all romantics meet the same fate someday
Cynical and drunk and boring someone in some dark cafe
You laugh he said you think you're immune
Go look at your eyes they're full of moon
You like roses and kisses and pretty men to tell you
All those pretty lies pretty lies
When you gonna realise they're only pretty lies
Only pretty lies just pretty lies

He put a quarter in the Wurlitzer and he pushed
Three buttons and the thing began to whirr
And a bar maid came by in fishnet stockings and a bow tie
And she said "Drink up now it's gettin' on time to close"
"Richard, you haven't really changed" I said
It's just that now you're romanticizing some pain that's in your head
You got tombs in your eyes but the songs you punched are dreaming
Listen, they sing of love so sweet, love so sweet
When you gonna get yourself back on your feet?
Oh and love can be so sweet Love so sweet

Richard got married to a figure skater
And he bought her a dishwasher and a coffee percoator
And he drinks at home now most nights with the TV on
And all the house lights left up bright
I'm gonna blow this damn candle out
I don't want nobody comin' over to my table
I got nothing to talk to anybody about
All good dreamers pass this way some day
Hidin' behind bottles in dark cafes dark cafes
Only a dark cocoon before I get my gorgeous wings and fly away
Only a phase these dark cafe days

I do agree, laughing and crying are things you do to show emotion. These are different emotions, but ... you are still basically releasing some emotion with one of these actions.
Also: My favorite song is "Big Yellow Taxi". It's great lyrically, .. and I really like the melody.

I do agree with her as when we laugh we feel better in our souls' and when we cry we're refreshed and we feel better also.. I love her voice as i did of a lot of singers in them days. They used to have a singer named Janis Ian ; she sang society's child ...Did you ever hear that song?
