Go kart engine smokes alot half way through use?

Ill be riding my go kart when about 5 mins after starting and riding the muffler starts spewing blue smoke and its very thick it does this for around 30 sec. then its fine....when this happens the engine has no power for the 30 sec...

the piston rings are goin bad,as the motor runs for a while it gets hot ,every thing expands and smoke stops,but sooner or later it will get worse.have to replace rings before more damage happens.

I would not agree about the rings. Is this two or four stroke ? Is the engine mounted upright or some other position ? Need info. before can help

sound,s like you have too much oil in the crankcase........too much oil can be almost as bad as not enough.......be sure to keep your oil level at the proper amount.....excess oil will burn out when you hit a bump or over rev. the engine.
