The Romans were very good at adopting the best of the cultures they conquered. When they conquered Greece, they adopted their architecture and added the Roman arch and the dome to it to create Greco-Roman (Classical style). They also imitated their sculpture. One of the most interesting things they appropriated was the Greek pantheon of gods and goddesses (their own had been rather vague). Greek slaves were also prized as teachers for Roman children and givers of speeches at Roman banquets.
