technically, no.
But many alcoholics do tend to have similar experiences and similar thought patterns, or habits of thinking. Even so, you still might find things online about the "alcoholic personality." it just isn't a personality type the way a psychologist would mean the term.
but many people think there is an addictive personality -
that there are personality similarities between people who get addicted to , well, whatever.
But it could work the other way - after being addicted, these people may come to resemble each other in their behavior and beliefs due to the effects of the addiction.

No it is a illness, caused by one becoming sensitized to the chemical methanol. It is not curable, however it can be treated, and put into a state of remission, that is why they will say I am a recovering alcoholic.
I would add however, their are those that are "predisposed", to becoming addicted to alcohol genetically. Children of alcoholics have a 50/50, chance of becoming alcoholics.
The most effective treatment of the disease is through the 12 step program of AA.

If you tend to take that alcoholics have many common denominators in their personalities,then ,may be,yes.Otherwise,alcoholics are a class by themselves and aren't a type of personality.

i agree its an addiction but the longer it becomes a habit. and it just adapts into personalities type.
