I should just cut and paste LITY's answer from the question 4 down (which is the same question). LOL - he already did.
After reading LITY's argument if you still don't agree well then tough. It will happen without your approval.

I will answer a question WITH a question...
You do know those that are being inducted this year correct?)
Ok So has Lindros done anything they have done? won 3 stanley cups, for instance being knwon as 'The Captain' being known like McInnis for his hard shot or Ronnie Francis as the Playmaker (or was it passer)
I see Lindros if he's inducted for anything is his
"I refuse to play in Quebec" when drafted
he won what awards? How many times was he on an All Star team (not the one voted by fans)

No he definately should not be in the hockey hall of fame.
His career was mediocre at best. From the day he was drafted he demonstrated what a selfish self centered whiney baby he was.He should have just put on the Quebec jersey maybe he would have ended up getting a cup then.Any moron that is too injured to play for his team yet can be out dancing in nightclubs again not so smart.
If he gets in then they may as well let everyone who has scored a goal get in.
He was a loser.

Going by the criteria that the hall uses for a player: Playing ability, sportsmanship, character and their contribution to the team or teams and to the game of hockey in general, I say he won't get in for a long time.
He defied the NHL as a rookie with that whole Quebec issue, he became a huge deterent in Philly to the point they had to "get rid" of him and overall he was a mediocroe player at best. Sue he had some striking stats, but when you look at the player himself, he certainly doesn't represent what the hall of fame player does!

he was destined to be in the hall of fame before he was even in the NHL scouted as being the next one, and yeah he made is mark storming in with Philly, he might also get in for all the controversy he caused disgracing Quebec by being drafted by them and then not even put on the jersey, hold his career off for a year so that Quebec would trade him it's hard to believe what Quebec got for him to
To Philly: Eric Lindros
To Quebec: Peter Forseberg
Ron Hextall
Steve Duschene
kerry Huffman
Mike Ricci
Chris Simon
2 first round draft picks '93 '94
and 15 mill to the nordiques for the rights of Lindros prior to the draft it's sickning i wonder who got the better deal

He thought he was bigger than the game, before he ever took the ice. The way he refused to play in Quebec, it makes me happy his name never got on the cup. He went to high school here in my town, in metro Detroit, while he played junior, and he was obnoxious back then. Put him in the hall of shame, and let his mommy and daddy induct him. They spoke for him all the time anyways. Enjoy retirement Eric, you were almost good enough to be a has been!!!!!!

Definitely. He's a great all around player who deserves to be inducted in to the Hall of Fame. Although, the fact that he had so many issues with injuries while he was on the Flyers surely works against his odds. The times he was able to play, he showed Hall of Fame caliber of play and he has an MVP award to prove it. So to answer your question yes.

Lindros will be in the Hall of Fame, and most likely in his first year of eligibility
- Lindros has the 14th highest points per game average in NHL history (He was 5th before the Stevens hit).........everybody above him (aside from Sakic, and Yzerman).....is in the Hall of Fame
- 61% of the HHOF's members had shorter careers/played fewer games - so 'a short career' not an excuse
- averaged 1.5 ppg or higher in 4 seasons (consecutively as well) - only Gretzky and Lemieux can make that claim (Every player in NHL history who is eligible for the hall of Fame and averaged 1.5 points a game more than once - is in the Hall of Fame)
- 2nd highest points per game in the 90s behind Lemieux
- 1 Hart trophy (All players eligible for the Hall of Fame who have won the Hart Trophy except Al Rollins - are in the hall of Fame)
- 1 Pearson trophy ((All players eligible for the Hall of Fame who have won the Pearson Trophy - are in the hall of Fame)
- 6 NHL All-Star Games (All players eligible for the Hall of Fame who have played at least 6 all-star games - are in the hall of Fame)
- 1 NHL First Team All-Star
- 1 NHL Second Team All Star
- 1 Olympic Gold Medal
- 2 World Junior Goild Medals
- 1 Canada Cup Championship
Highest point per game average in Philadelphia Flyer History
Fastest Flyer to 150, 200 and 250 goals
Fastest Flyer to 500 points
Holds Flyer record for most goals in a game (4)
Holds Flyer record for most assists in a game (6)
Holds Flyer record for most points in the playoffs in a season (26)
Eric Lindros is the ONLY Centre in the Gretzky/Lemieux era to be an end of season all-star more than once.

You must be kidding, he showed his disdain to the NHL by rejecting the draft. Great players went where the were assigned..Lemieux to the frozen igloo..Yzerman to the Dead things. Orr to the Bruised ...What team did Eric the Bread bring anything to? He couldn't even last with the Leafs..He does for Stanley Cup glory what Brittany Spears gave to Hollywood Stardom. A trivial footnote and nothing more.

The Hall of Fame is so watered down, I would say there is a good chance he will get in.

Eric Lindros, in his prime was one of the classiest players to ever don a pair of ice skates,To me he was second only to Wayne Gretzke. He was fast, shifty, a supurb stick handler, a great shooter and an excellent passer who did not hog the puck. He should definitely be considered for the Hall of Fame.
