TRUTH IS that America is a very imperialist nation!
What is bad is when a nation imposes its own ideas on others.
What is good is when a nation that has wealth and power, hopefully, will act in the best interest of all nations.

The Philipines told the US to close Subic Bay and pull out the aircraft carriers and it was done.
One day, The Soviet Union called up Hungary and said, "Your government is no longer relevant and has no power" That is imperialism.
The US was in western Germany and west Berlin. The Germans, a former enemy ran those governments on their own with US funding and protection. The Soviets did things a little differently in the East. Which one was the imperialist?
I think most Americans would love to be left alone by the world so we could return the favor. We don't dictate how a foreign government governs and would be very happy to turn back more responsibility to them for their own security. Japan would be a good example.

No! No! and lower back No! merely remember, if the US had to truly take over international places it would desire to accomplish that with little attempt and not care approximately international reaction. South Korea and Japan and Germany are international places which the US might have actual taken, yet right this moment those are international places that stand on their own, usually against the final hobbies of the US. some imperialist, different than the chortle offered it rather is rather an illogical way for people who hate u . s . a . to offload on it.

Not culturally; we never had much interest in colonies. The craving for international security developed during the cold war, then we had a ten-year breather, then 9/11 so now we're back to a highly aggressive policy of obliterating any supposed "threat" - real (arguably) or imagined ( perhaps more realistically). Naturally,we see threats everywhere - and act accordingly. But it's not an imperialist phenomena - more like a paranoid construct.

The US is an empire, meaning it is a centrally controlled state made up of many nationalities. We would also most likely not leave the countries we occupy if asked.
That said, nobody is asking us to leave. They may gripe about us, but if we ever left they would be left in a vulnerable position. Just like the territories of the Roman Empire were better off under Roman rule than during the dark ages, the countries we occupy are better off with our presence.

No. While many would argue that we are in fact pushing our ideologies on others, I find that to be misleading. We would be imperialists if we were taking over nations, placing our people at the helm of their governments and taxing them. But what do we do, we spend the precious lives of our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines and our tax dollars, only to help a country become a democracy. then we help them to rebuild their infrastructure (as ours is literally falling down around us), we set up free elections for their people and go home to start signing foreign aid checks.
within decades, we're buying cheap goods from them and giving up our living wage jobs in the process. No we are not Imperialists, we're also, obviously, not very bright.

No we are not. The USA has spent more in aiding other countries after disasters, like the tsunami in Asia, than any other country. If a country asks us to leave then we do so. We didn't take over Kuwait after the first gulf war, we don't control Japan, and we are one of the few countries that never colonized another continent.

No we are not an "imperialistic" nation. And as a matter of fact we have been asked to leave countries and interestingly enough have done just that.

It sure does seem like we are trying to spread our influence through military might. I think that much like Rome did and like Nazi Germany for that matter, we are spreading ourselves too thin.

Yeah we keep forcing people to take our aid. We insist people eat our food. And we shove our free medicine down the throats of those dying from diseases. Yup, we are bad.
