if you're in a roto and H2H leagues, they are the same as points, steal, and blocks.
but if you're in a point-based league, it depends on how many points your league commissioner will give. check your league settings, you will see how many points are worth on each category.

In general I'll say assists since NBA teams average low to mid 40s rebounds per game and only low 20s assists per game. Assists are harder to get.

Neither is better but assists are harder to come by than rebounds.
