The blasts led to the withdrawal of the international peacekeeping force from Lebanon, where they had been stationed since the Israeli 1982 invasion of Lebanon. "Islamic Jihad" took responsibility for the bombing, but that organization is thought to have been a nom de guerre for Hezbollah receiving help from the Islamic Republic of Iran.[1]

Because we did not respond, perhaps that has influenced Bushs' decision to not give up.

The hell he didn't! He pulled us out of there completely. It was an almost overnight type of move.

Massive - you really need to lay off that BS. Hell even Bill Clinton wanted to go to war with Iraq and almost did in 1998. So, the intel that Clinton used to justify his bombing campaign in 1998 wasn't actually valid. How do you people respond to that? You respond by saying that its not Clinton that's President, which is a complete side step of the question.

He did! Beginning a great Republican tradition, he invaded a country that had nothing to do with. Grenada. And he 'cut and run' from Lebanon.
