as miniscule as this may sound compared to other answers, when i was in high school, i did horrible during my sophomore year. everyone had high expectations of me to do well (i've always been very bright), and to go to a good school.

however, that year, i had a few new...stages of life, i guess you could say, that i went through. i was 15. so young. my mother and father both went on strike against their jobs for 4 months and we were close to losing our home. my grandmother became gradually very ill and eventually passed away exactly 1 month before my 16th birthday. i was there at her side when she literally took her last breath and it was the first death i had ever experienced. my mother and i lost touch with each other, as did the rest of my family (we were broken) and as i said previously, i did not meet expectations of those around me, and i was compared to others constantly. also, socially i felt out of place and was uncomfortable in my own skin.

that year was one of the worst times i have ever experienced. there were many times i felt so low, i even contemplated taking the easy way out. however, there was always something deep inside that made me resist.

now. flashforward to the present, i am alive and healthy. i am doing fairly well in school (community college) and i plan to transfer to UCLA or UC Irvine in a few short years to obtain a degree in biology and then hopefully enter into dental school to become a dentist, and ultimately an orthodontist.

i have gained so many characteristics from my teenage years that have helped mold me into the person i am today. i am strong willed, determined, and i know that with hope and faith, that i will overcome any obstacle i may face, no matter how hard it may seem for me.

i believe that all persons are given an obstacle that they can overcome. it is up to them, however it may be, to find a way to overcome it. even if that means learning the hard way. i dont believe any problem is ever greater or less than the next. it is how the person deals with it.

that is the worst and absolute greatest thing that has ever happened to me - falling through what seemed a bottomless pit, catching myself, pulling myself back up, and seeing the light once again.

i hope that one day, i will meet a person who feels their world is ending, and i can look them in the eye and say this will pass and everything will be O.K.

The best is probably making the choice to home school. It has built and strengthened so many awesome relationships.

The worst could be my house fire, however that did a lot of good things for us anyhow (despite losing all we had). It reminded us that those were just possessions, and we were family. The next worst thing I can think of would be my Gram having a heart attack last February.

**But God brings blessings through sufferings.

The best thing that has happened to me so far is my bf. I met him online and didnt really think that anything would come out of it. He has really changed me and helped me become a better person the few months we have been together. and I hope to learn more from him.

The worst thing that has happened is the death of my grandfather. I blame myself for it. I was supposed to stay at home with him and I didn't. If i was there I maybe could have helped him. I can't stop blaming myself for that day. I regret not being able to say good bye.

Best= The day I really realized that God would help me through anything, that death wasn't that big of a deal, that I didn't need to be afraid. That was amazing. I started living without fear from then on.

Worst= Seeing a guy die after he was hit by a car on the other side of the road from me when I was walking to school. I was 10 at the time. Whoo, that messed me up good for a while.
