My air filter was inserted incorrectly and now dirt particles are stuck in the heat pump coils. I only have a 4" space to run a vacuum across the coils. Other than to remove the duct work, how would anyone clean these return coils? Seems very dirty and difficult to access.

Start taking the panels off. Be careful with the Vac. DON'T bend any fins. There is a coil cleaning spray. Also fin combs.

Find a hvac guy. A filter problem may be the least of your worries. How's the blower motor? and outdoor unit? Spend a $100.00 for peace of mind.
