that is a pretty impressive energy source. i have always wondered about the lack of any initiative on the part of the leaders of this country to go to non polluting sources of energy. it is right there for the taking. aren't we silly, being held hostage by the need for oil.

edit:it's easy to see why this hasn't happened, when i read some other posts. why do people keep whining about power plants? here you have a clean power source in a unused area, but you hear about being unable to build nuclear plants. is somebody missing the point of the question?

You really should do some research.
Environmentalists are the one's who oppose coal and nuke plants.
Nuke plants produce less than 1% pollution and it's the cheapest form of energy yet check out the outrage everytime some suggest we build one.
I wouldn't even try suggesting new oil refineries(eco-terrorists would probably try to kill me if I did.)
As for solar energy, it's still more expensive to build a 10 sq./m section, and the costs charged customers is higher than other forms of energy.
It's important to note that many cities across this country are using hydrogen vehicles(city vehicles,Buses, etc)

A few years ago the president presented a comprehensive energy plan that would have gone a long way towards preventing an energy crisis. unfortunely it and the other plans to do something about the problem have hit a barrier. Some people have a different agenda and see any attempt to do something as wrong.

that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard of... do you really think if solar panels could power 80% of the energy needed we would not do it?
you need to do some real looking around.. before you say something that is... well less than true..
there is nothing on earth.. as in solar..or wind that can do that.. only oil.. coal.. nuke can do that.. get your facts right...

by the way.. look at who is being the US not being able to build new nuke power stations ... you'll not be a happy hippy demon-rat.. i promise

by the way... did you know that ronald reagan did offer a LARGE tax cut for anyone that bought them and put them on there house... and it was the far left wing that jumped in the way....

What is wrong with this country?

Americans live in a fantasy world, they just don't like the price. If you want to live in your comfortable home and listen to your ipod, you need to drill for oil. If you want to continue to live in war-free peace, you've got to take the battle to your enemy. If you want high quality medical care because you have a lousy diet and don't exercise, you (not me) should pay for it.

Find out WHY the government can't drill domestically, or build new nuclear power plants. Better yet, find out WHO is preventing our government from doing this.

Nice hair, by the way.
